Before the Hayden Giving Fund had an official name it was simply a Hayden Homes employees' dream to give back to the community. This simple aspiration evolved into a program which provides underprivileged families the ability to own their own home. Combined with the dedication of Hayden Watson, CEO of Hayden Homes, this dream developed into a Public Non-Profit in January, 1997.

Robert, Hayden, and Virginia Watson
| Leaving a Legacy Robert Watson, the founder of Hayden Homes, was a pinnacle of altruistic leadership. Known for his fun loving nature and endless dedication to improving the lives of others, Robert laid the foundation for the Hayden Giving Fund.
This innate sense of giving was passed down to his son, Hayden Watson. In loving memory of his father and mother, and their endless commitment to helping others, Hayden established the Housing Grant Program.
The Saldana Family
 |
| "We love our new home – and our neighborhood. Thanks for helping make this all possible!” | The first grant home recipients have a special place in the heart of all the volunteers who have helped make this program a success. Robert and Lorraine Saldana, along with their young son Tristan, achieved their dream of home ownership on April 4, 2002. The Housing Grant Program enabled this exceptional family to own a home without sacrificing the in-home care that Lorraine provided for their handicapped child. The Saldana’s are the first of many qualified recipients and remain a testament to the program’s success.
