(VENETA, OREGON) – At 11:30am on Monday, December 18th 2006, a Veneta family will meet the many people who helped build their brand new Hayden Home in the homebuilder’s community of Perkins Country Estates in Veneta. David and Christa Hitt were selected, in cooperation with the Housing and Community Services Agency of Lane County, to be the newest recipients of a Hayden Giving Fund Grant House. They will own the home with a 30 year interest-free loan.
With the help of over 20 local trade partners, manufacturers, and craftsmen—who provided donated labor and materials towards the project—the family have a home of their very own. The 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is the Fund’s twelfth Grant House to be dedicated. The Fund plans to award 6 homes through out Oregon and Washington in 2007.
About the Hayden Giving Fund
The Hayden Giving Fund started in 1998, when an employee suggested that Hayden Homes create a non-profit to provide help and support to the communities in which they build homes. Its primary purpose is the establishment of Housing Grants. The Hayden Giving Fund also contributes significantly to various community organizations and programs throughout Oregon and Washington.
